Our COUNCIL
Our St. Jude Council 5801 is affiliated with St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish at 807 Havens Corners Road in Gahanna, OH.
Our Grand Knight for 2023-2024 is Jeff Bernard.
St. Jude Council 5801 Knights are active in charitable work within St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Parish, in Gahanna, and in the Greater Columbus community. We help provide funds for various projects, and our members are active participants in parish life.
In the Fraternal Year , July, 2022 through June, 2023, our Council raised and distributed over 36,850 to a multiple of educational scholarships and charitable organizations. In addition to the monetary contributions, our Council contributed over 2337 volunteer hours in the Calendar Year January 2022 to December 2022, to a variety of charitable organizations in and around the Gahanna community.
Our Council Involvement
Our Council is very involved in the Parish and the Community. We organize and sponsor events and we dedicate the proceeds to several organizations within the Parish and within the Community. Some of the events we lead and are involved with include:
K of C Lenten Friday Fish Fry’s. Proceeds go to St Matthew student scholarships to a Catholic High School.
K of C Pancake Breakfast’s. Proceeds go toward the St Matthew mortgage and St Francis Center in McArthur.
K of C BBQ Smoker Events. Proceeds all go to Charitable Works.
K of C Measure-Up. Collecting for the Mentally and Physically Disabled.
K of C Pennies For Heaven. Collection for Seminarians at The Pontifical College Josephinum.
K of C Baby Bottle Campaign. Collections assist single Mother’s.
K of C State Wide “Super Cash Bonanza” Raffle. Tickets sold with all the proceeds going toward benefiting local charities.
K of C Football Fund Crazr Raffle. Tickets sold with all proceeds going toward benefiting local charities.
K of C Free Throw contest for Youth.
K of C support of the Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel.
K of C support in funding and leadership in the “That Man is You” program.
K of C sponsoring for both the Women’s and Men’s Catholic Conferences.
K of C Book Sale and Sacramental free will offering. Proceeds assist with reducing the conference ticket price and assists anyone that has a financial need.
K of C Charitable Works Golf Tournament. Proceeds support Charitable Works.
K of C support for Charitable Works. Volunteer hours.
K of C support in reducing the mortgage for the St. Matthew Church.
K of C support for the St. Francis Center in McArthur, Ohio.
K of C support to the VA in Chillicothe, Ohio for special events to help our veterans.
K of C assistance in Secret Santa.
K of C coaching various sports at St. Matthew Elementary.
council meetings
We meet every month in the Knights of Columbus room in the Parish Support Center on the St. Matthew campus. Our Business Meeting is at 7:30pm on the 2nd Wednesday and we have a casual Social Meeting on the 4th Wednesday.
Our council has over 125 men, and worldwide the Knights are almost 2 million men strong and contribute over 73 million hours of volunteer work and over $175 million to thousands of charities.
